GENDER ACTIVIST THANKS WORLD VISION FOR RETRIEVING 600 GIRLS FROM CHILD MARRIAGES

GENDER Activist Beauty Katebe has paid tribute to World Vision Zambia for retrieving over 600 Girls from child marriages across the country.
Recently, World Vision Zambia Board Chairperson Malcom Chabala disclosed that World Vision Zambia was targeting to retrieve 15,000 adolescent girls from marriages by 2025.
Commenting on the development, Ms Katebe called on Zambians not to condone child marriages in the wake of free education.
Ms Katebe thanked the New Dawn Government for enacting the Children’s Code Act (12 of 2022).
She said continued refining of laws to protect children from all harmful practices was in line with Zambia’s commitment to international obligations.
Ms Katebe called on organizations such as World Vision to continue complementing Government efforts in promoting awareness of the Children’s rights and protection.
