Unity best way to honour Commander Fidel Castro Ruz

 Just like Che Guevara, with the passing of revolutionary giant one Fidel Castro Ruz, we would like to borrow words used: Ever Onward To Victory.

Secondly just as was the case when Ghana became independent in 1957, the founder Pan Africanist, the indefatigable Kwame Nkhrumah build a viewpoint worth consolidating that as long as other parts of Africa remained in colonial bondage, the Gold Coast would never be truly free.

Thirdly, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah protestingly insisted that political independence would remain a meaningless virtue beyond the African continent without attainment of socio-economic liberty among previously colonised people.

That is the inspiration that drove African countries and brethren like Cuban revolutionary giant Commandante Fidel Castro Ruz, from a tender age of just nineteen (19) to wage a relentless war against foreign domination.

This struggle culminated in the Cuban people shedding blood to liberate the African people; North-South, East-West  and as they say this combative ‘Charity Began from Home’ where the United States of America (USA) political and economic hegemony had been entrenched.

Instead of enjoying the fruits of this labour alone, late Castrol spearheaded the revolutionary objection to white supremacy through rendering relentless support to  Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and lately South Africa where the last remnants of colonial rule and oppression-The Boer Regime was removed in 1994.

The heroic sacrifices of the Cuban people celebrated when Nelson Mandela became the First Black President of South Africa, later Christened as The Rainbow Nation. Incredibly, Mandela ruled just one term before handing over to Thabo Mbeki and lately Jacob Zuma and the African National Congress (ANC).

That said it is imperative to stress a salient prophesy by Castro that the American people would only swallow their superiority attributes to visit Cuba once the US was led by a Black Man and the Vatican was headed spiritually by a Pope from Latin America.

And as the say this was a prophesy in both word and deed as America’s First Black President Barrack Hussein Obama visited Cuba on a State Visit and likewise the Catholics ecumenical body is now headed by Pope Francis from  Argentina, a Latin American country.

Speaking in Havana, South African President Zuma celebrated Castro as man that walked the talk through unwavering opposition to all forms of foreign domination.

On their part, United National Independence Party (UNIP) President Tilyenji Kaunda and Vice President Njekwa Anamela eulogized Cuban leader, the late Fidel Castrol Ruz and Zambia’s former First Republican President Kenneth David Kaunda for setting a revolutionary foundation worth emulating.

Speaking jointly after signing a Book of Condolences at the Cuban Embassy in Lusaka, Comrade Kaunda and Anamela implored Zambians and Cubans to emulate revolutionary sacrifices scored by late Fidel and Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda.

It is worth noting that Comrade Kaunda told Cuban Ambassador to Zambia, Malawi and Special Representative to Common Market for East and Central Africa, Ambassador Caridad Perez Gonzalez, that late Castro fought for the emancipation oppressed people throughout the world.

On his part, UNIP Vice President Njekwa Anamela reminisced on the inspirational memory that late Castro galvanised the international youth and communities beyond politics.

It is encouraging that though younger than Castro, Ambassador Gonzalez recollected that the biggest lesson is for all Cubans and Zambians to remain united as a common goal is the surest means of consolidating liberty.

Borrowing a phrase from Zambia-Cuba Friendship Association Acting President, Tentani ‘Motto’ Mwanzah, we beseech the African people to build on the legacy of late Fidel Castro Ruz and the indefatigable Kaunda motto of One Zambia, One Nation.

On his part, speaking as a career diplomat, former Fourth Republican President Rupiah Bwezani Banda acknowledge the larger than life figure of Fidel Castro Ruz and shared goal of liberating oppressed communities within little resources that Cuba has. Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa H.E. Emmanuel Mwamba equally signed a book of condolence’s in Pretoria South Africa
