ZIMBA is one of the small but largely expanded villages in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt Province with so many activities happening in the community
A Zimba community resident Doris Mwansa complained that the former Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Government did not deliver to there expectation when it was still in power especially when it came to empowering vulnerable communities.
“Our village is big and when one dies we have to keep that person till the day of burial. When people die they have to put them in the house for three days until they bury and due to that the bodies rot inside.
“People die every year and we don’t have any option other than keeping the bodies inside and when they rot produce a bad smell which you can not like.”Mwansa lamented.
Meanwhile, Mwansa appealed to Government to look after them especially if they can build a mortuary for them where they will be putting dead people not to keep them inside the house.
“I am appealing to the Patriotic Front Government to build a mortuary for us where we will be putting dead bodies instead of keeping them inside the houses,” cried Mwansa
