Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Dispute (SACCORD) Executive Director Boniface Chembe has dispelled assertions from the opposition that he has taken a partisan stance in nodding to Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kangaja’s decree to nab armed people.
Early this week Police IG Kanganja made a pronouncement that any one carrying lethal weapons in public will be arrested as a way of deterring political cadres from engaging into violence ahead of the general elections slated for 11th August, 2016.
Speaking in a live telephone interview on Pan African Radio ‘Let’s Find Out’ Programme today anchored by Goodface Mulala and Isaac Nsoneka, Mr.Chembe said those insinuating that SACCORD is not being impartial in the manner it has come out to welcome the announcement Inspector General Kanganja to cage individuals or groups carrying dangerous weapons.
The SACCORD boss believes that the Police decree will help to bring sanity in the political arena as the nation votes on 11th August,2016.
