A Civic leader in Lusaka’s Garden compound is concerned over the mushrooming of bars and taverns following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions by the Ministry of Health for one month.
Adrian Banda Councilor of Ngwerere Ward 22 in Mandevu constituency has revealed that there has been an increase in people opening illegal bars and taverns saying urgent action is required to curb the vice.
Mr Banda says some people are taking advantage of open piece of land to set up illegal drinking structures that has led to the increase in lawlessness.
In an interview with Kwithu FM News, Mr. Banda has since appealed to Lusaka City Council to intensify their routine operations to curb any illegal activities.
