Lions Club District 413 Governor Patrick Bulundo has called on all Zambians to practice a clean way of living in order to eradicate the Cholera pandemic as the water bourne disease (burden) has an adverse negative socio-economic impact on individual and national development aspirations.
Speaking during a donation to Lusaka City Council (LCC), Lion Bulundo regretted that government is spending huge sums of resources to mitigate the spread and treatment of Cholera, which would have been channeled to other developmental projects, had citizens and corporates prevented the water bourne disease.
Lion Bulundo presented Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE’s) for frontliners, disinfectants, chlorine and assorted items to Lusaka City Council worth K460, 000.
Lion Bulundo reiterated a mandate is to ‘Change the World and make it a Better Place’ by ‘Touching People’s Lives through Helping Out where Need Be’ hence ‘All Lions’ throughout Zambia’s ten (10) provinces; Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Muchinga, Northern, North-Western, Southern and Western contributed.
Earlier, LCC Acting Town Clerk (TC), Engineer Liftery Ndaba commended Lions District 413 for the gesture and pledged to Partner with any organization willing to hold hands with the local Council in eradicating the Cholera pandemic.
Receiving the Donation on Behalf of the City Council, Lusaka Mayor Chilando Nakalima-Chitangala said the donation is a true representation of selflessness leadership and good will that will bring positive impact in community service.
Previously a Patriotic Front (PF) Roma Ward 17 Councilor in Mandevu Constituency, Ms. Nakalima-Chitangala called for collaborated efforts from all stakeholders in order for the fight against Cholera to be won.
Adhering to a call by Lion Bulundo to resume the ‘Keep Lusaka Clean and Green Campaign’ that seems to be on recess, Ms. Nakalima-Chitangala called on Lions District 413 to join LCC in the Monthly Cleaning of the Zambian Capital City once summoned.
