On August 9, 2024, a consortium of Christian universities in Southern Africa conferred a Professorship on Bishop John Mambo, founder of Nyamphande orphanage and Chairman of Chikondi Foundation. This recognition acknowledges Bishop Mambo’s tireless dedication to humanitarian work, education, and community development.

Bishop John Hardy Mambo was born on 23rd August, 1953 in Lukwipa Village of Rufunsa District here in Lusaka Province. His educational route is traced from Lukwipa and Luggediani Bantu Schools where he did his first primary education levels between the years 1961 through to 1967. in 1968 to 1972, he went to Lusaka International School to continue with his Second Levels of education under the scholarship of Copper Company Education Fund. He is a husband, father and grand, grandy.
Hishop John Hardy Mambo, started acquiring leadership knowledge by going to Botswana Bible Institute, where he spent 2 years doing Religious Studies in the good years of the Lord 1976 to 1978. in the year after, 1978, he proceeded to the Republic of Mozambique where he studied Business Management and Portuguese language at University of Lorenzo Marques. He further went to Langwith College, University of New York and University of England to pursue his Masters Degree in Business Administration from 1979 to 1983. in 1984-1986, Bishop John Hardy Mambo, left for United States of America to study another Degree in Theology with Tennessee Theological Seminary. In the year 1993, he did Advancing Leadership Skills with Haggai Institute.
Bishop John Hardy Mambo began his second journey and gained work experience through various departments in both private and government systems. He worked at Zambia Broadcasting Services under the Department of Engineering from 1973-1975. in 1976 -1980, he worked as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller in the Department of Civil Aviation at Lusaka International Airport. Bishop John Hardy Mambo rose through rank and file to many senior and management positions. He was General Manager at Chekos Group of Companies (Zambia) where he successfully set up five Chekos companies between the years 1980-1984. His hard work and vast experience made him be recognized not just by local bodies but also by international boards and was appointed board chairperson to head some international boards.
He served on Country Mechanisms Coordination Committee with Global Fund in 2002-2010.
Bishop John Hardy Mambo is an out spoken speaker who spoke to 48 states out of 50 on missions in the United States of America, and has been to all the 5 continents.
As a Christian leader, Bishop John Hardy Mambo became a regional Superintendent for the Church of God, overseeing ten countries in Central Africa region. Being the First Black African, he oversaw the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Central African Republic (CAR), Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Congo Brazaville, Zambia, Gabon, Mozambique and Namibia.
In another development, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was the national overseer for the Church of God in Zambia appointed by the Church of God General Assembly from 1984 -1994. He also served as member of the Church of God International Advisory Council and he is the current member of the Africa Committee of the Church of God based in Tennessee USA respectively.
Whilst serving as national overseer for CoG, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was the first Chairman of Zambia Shall Be Served foundation, a position he held for two years in the same vine yard of God, he also served as a field director of Global Advance Foundation run by theologian Dr. David Shibley in Dallas, Texas to equip front-liner shepherds for world harvest in 1991-1996.
Bishop John Hardy Mambo, also served as Secretary to the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Lusaka, the late Right Reverend Stephen Mumba during Constitutional Talks that took place at the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Cross in 1991.
In the same year 1991, he officiated the inauguration ceremony of the then newly elected president of the Republic of Zambia, H.E .F.J.T.Chiluba (MHSRIEP).
On 14th July, 1994, he was appointed by Minister of Health hon. Michael Chilufya Sata (MP)(MHSRIEP ) to be a member of General Medical Council and he was also twice member of University Teaching Hospital board from 1st January, 1992 and 2nd March, 1997 under Dr. George Chabwera chairmanship.
During the year of the lord, 2002, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was elected un – opposed as chairman for Lusaka Province Human Rights Committee.
He stands to be the only appointed member amongst the 1st board members of Central Board of Health under the chairmanship of the late senior citizen Tom Mtine-M (MHSRIEP).
In 2001 to 2003, he served as chairperson for Kamwala Secondary School Management Board and Kamwala Secondary School Parents Teachers Association (PTA).
Prior to that, he was chairperson for Namununga School in 1981.
In 2016, he was appointed chairperson for Zitukule self-help group consortium, and also chief advising member spokesperson.
Coming down to 2017, he was elected chairperson for Civil Society for Constitutional Agenda (CISCA).
In another good year of the lord 2024, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was elected president for the World Christian Leadership Conference the position he is currently holding to this moment.
From 1984 to today, Bishop John Hardy Mambo is frequently sought out by media for opinion on matters of religious, political, education, human rights, healthcare, corruption, etcetera (etc).
In addition to his profound, rich curriculum vitae (CV), Bishop John Hardy Mambo has made significancy contributions in various religious, christian and secular communities: he is the founder and president of Chikondi Foundation and Nyampande Orphanage Community School which provide services to the vulnerable citizens, media, orphans and widows in our communities around the country.
He is also the founding member of the Firum for the Democratic Process (FODEP) and served as its president until he resigned in 1990.
He is the man behind Zambia Monitoring and Coordinating Committee and Churches Monitoring group founded in 1990 and 1999, respectively.
He is again the founding president of Maluba Rotary Club of Zambia and the recepient of the international award as best organised and run rotary club in the world during his presidency in the year 2003.
He is also an official representative of Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ), a position he was elected to by CHAZ members.
In 2021, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was appointed Chief of Staff extraordinary, State House and board of director of Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM).
Because of his dedication to service whilst living, Bishop John Hardy Mambo is a custodian of many awards and honors from various institutions of the 90s to this very day.
In 1992, he received his honoray degree in Missions and Theology from Lee University of Cleveland, Tennessee, USA.
In 1998, Bishop John Hardy Mambo was awarded honorary citizenship and key to the City of Duke of Kentucky during the 11th year of the city.
In 2002, he was awarded with a distinguished service award by the Department of World Mission, United States of America.
In the same year of the Lord, 2002 in the month of August, he was proclaimed a Missionary Voice for the Voiceless by Mayor Alvint Miller of the City of Opa-Locka, Florida, USA.
2006 was another good year for Bishop John Hardy Mambo, in which he received an honorary Doctrate of Theology by Lee University of Cleveland, Tennessee, USA.
He is also a recipient of honorary Permanent Zambia Diplomatic Passport in recognition of his personal service for Zambia.
Bishop John Hardy Mambo received yet another honorary training by the Institute of Directors (IoD), Zambia Chapter and was awarded a Certificate of Directorship under the leadership of Mumba Kapumpa.
In 2022, he was honoured with a degree in Theology by Pentecostal Theological College.
