OPPOSITION Leadership Movement President Dr. Richard Silumbe says the outbreak of Coronavirus known as Covid 19 should have been an opportunity for Zambia to procure and export masks to SADC and COMESA markets using the Mulungushi Textiles.
Dr. Silumbe has told Kwilanzi News Zambia in an interview in Lusaka that in some countries there are reports of masks being in short supply and Zambia should have benefited from meeting this short-fall Common Market for East and Central Africa and the Southern African Development Community regions.
Dr. Silumbe says though government is diligently addressing the teething covid 19 issue more still needs to be done and encouraged Zambians to be productive whilst at home as an idle mid is usually a devil’s workshop.
Dr. Silumbe has encouraged Zambians to come up with back-yard gardens and produce a variety vegetables stressing that doing so will keep the economy going, as social distancing measures are making life more difficult.
Dr. Silumbe predicts that as a consequence of the covid 19, the economic down meltdown will be severe if families just stay at home without engaging themselves on productive ventures like back-yard gardening and entrepreneurship at macro scale level.
