LEADERSHIP Movement (LM) leader Richard Silumbe says once in Government his team will galvanised the energy of young people as a means of maintaining and sustaining the national food basket.

In a Sunday 5th April 2020 Press Statement issued in Zambia’s Capital City of Lusaka, Leadership Movement President, Dr. Richard Silumbe pledged to use the youth dividend in securing the country’s food security.

Dr. Silumbe says time is nigh within which it is necessary to positive utilize the zeal and tenacity of young people in food production in all of Zambia’s  ten (10) provinces, namely Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Muchinga, Northern, North-Western, Southern and Wedtern.

With the energy of the Youths across Zambia the Leadership Movement will engage the Youths into production. As we recurit 4 (four) Million Youths for Jobs in 2021 the Leadership Movement will set up State Farms in each District and put the energy of the Youths back to work,” pledged an optimistic Dr. Silumbe.

Dr.  Silumbe held a view that once positively utilised the contribution  of the Youths to National Development has the capacity to reduce the price of mealie meal, we can assure Country Men and Women that under the Leadership Movement shortages of food will not take place,” Dr. Silumbe assured the electorate.

Dr. Silumbe restated that  once in power, the Leadership Movement  Government will operate 24/7 all year round, in line with the  party manifesto to reduce poverty and hunger.

“It is the duty of any Government to produce, maintain and sustian the food basket. By empowering the youths and farmers the price of mealie meal will come down. Rise Up and Dust Yourself,” admonished Leadership Movement President Dr. Richard Silumbe.
