Children, Young People and Women deserve better support
Zambian Children Young People and Women in Development (ZCYPWD) remains committed toward a world that embraces the world’s population category in commemorating the Thursday 12th March 2020 International Youth Day whose theme is: “I take the lead.”

As the children and young people and mothers observe National Youth Day, ZCYPWD regards thus group as leaders of tomorrow must be mainstreamed in national development in a practical and holistic manner.

In our view, the 2020 National Youth Day theme: “I take the lead”, Zambia must focus on creating a conducive environment on which these ‘Imiti ikula empanga’ literally translated as ‘Leaders of Tomorrow‘ Zambia must embrace this category of citizens with unity messages as lack of common ground makes or keeps young people and children out of the governance structures.

The Zambian high unemployment, high income inequality levels continue worsening as university and college graduands resort to a live of deprivation.
Globally, as is the case in Zambia, the Thursday 12th March 2020, National Youth Day (NYD) commemoration themed: ‘I Take the Lead’ were convened in a socio-economic environment confronted by high unemployment, high income inequality and high poverty levels.
It is high time that the country reviewed its education curriculum so that graduates are not prepared to only look for employment opportunities but to become entrepreneurs.

However, as Zambia continues to grapple with high poverty, high income inequality and high unemployment, it is imperative for children, young people and women youths to be be granted unwavered technical and material resources from the Government and Private Sector if they are blossom as entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Child Development must provide holistic entreprenueral support to children, young people and women.
ZCYPWD prods leaders to use the National Youth Day theme ‘I take the Lead‘ as a springboard on which to involve children young people and women in Zambia’s governance structures at all levels.
