Lands and Natural Resources Minister Jean Kapata donates hygiene materials in Lusaka’s Mandevu Constituency

Mandevu Member of Parliament Hon. Jean Kapata who is also the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources today donated 14 Foot Operated Hand Washing Mechanisms to all Markets of Mandevu Constituency within the 7 Wards of Mandevu Constituency. She said that she was saddened by the way people are dying world wide as a result of the Coronavirus.
Zambia has not been spared by this Pandemic which has since claimed one life and a total of 39 Cases reported locally so far she said. ‘I have therefore decided to donate these hand washing facilities to enhance government efforts in the fight against COVID 19. She urged Marketeers and all Customers visiting the markets to use these facilities to disinfect their hands before entering the Markets.
Frequent washing of hands has been identified as one of the key components in the fight of COVID 19 Pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Most Marketeers expressed gratitude to the Hon. Minister and the PF Government for this noble gesture which will enhance the hygiene levels in the various markets.
She was accompanied by all the Seven Ward Councillors of Mandevu Constituency.
