President Hichilema meets CCZ

Lusaka, April 20, 2023, ZANIS—President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed government’s commitment to work with the church towards the country’s economic transformation agenda.
President Hichilema says the church plays a vital part in driving the country’s economic agenda, hence the need to constantly engage them on issues of national interest.
ZANIS reports that the President said this today when he held an engagement with the Council of Churches in Zambia, at State House in Lusaka, on matters of national interest.
The Head of State assured his administration’s resolve to ensure that equity and fairness are centrally placed in all areas of governance.
Mr Hichilema says his administration is keen on ensuring that various sectors in the country receive an equal share of development, saying all this is attainable with efforts from various stakeholders.
The President cited improvement of the water reticulation system across the country, enhancing of security through construction of more police stations and building of institutional houses for all chiefs, as among the things that his administration intends to do.
And Council of Churches in Zambia President, Sauros Phaika says the church stands ready to work with government in building the nation on principles of national interest.
Reverend Phaika has commended President Hichilema and his administration for leading the country based on national values and principles.
He said the church will continue to pray and engage government on various issues that enhance peace and unity in the country.
