Over 400 youths on CDF education bursaries-Milenge

Milenge, April 14, 2023. ZANIS—Over 400 vulnerable youths have been selected to benefit from the Secondary Boarding School and Skills Development Bursaries under the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Milenge District in Luapula Province
Milenge Constituency Member of Parliament Saka Chonde said 329 of those are secondary school learners while 152 are youths set to attain skills training from various tertiary institutions.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Chonde was impressed with the increase in the number of applicants as it was an indication that the community is beginning to value education.
“There was a remarkable rise in the number of applicants and ultimately the number of recipients this year. This shows that our people are starting to appreciate the importance of education and grab the opportunities the government has provided,” he said.
Mr. Chonde added that he is working with the department of education in Milenge to sensitise residents on the free education opportunities available to them.
He stated that education plays a vital role in enhancing social economic development hence it is essential for members of the community to acquire it.
