ZAMBIAN Economist and Communications Specialist Kelvin Chisanga believes accelerating mineral diversification strategy will allow wider space of participation for other precious ores outside her traditional export mineral- copper.
Rendering advice, to Mines Minister Paul Kabuswe, Mr. Chisanga strongly backs a need to build a wider buffer for other essential metals and non-metals to play some critical role right into the economic activities as part of key composite elements within the mining sector.
Noting escalating of aggressive talks around some implementative modalities which may have been proven necessary as required of the Mineral Diversification Strategy for the Zambian case, Chisanga says this can perhaps help to trigger and cushion on a clear roadmap with smart objectives specifically aimed at achieving national mineral development cluster opportunities in the wider economic spectrum.
“Zambia at this point in time may require fostering a rapid economic transformation journey by ensuring that we can all garner up for potential opportunities presenting in the domestic market.
The mineral cadastre at mines ministry provides a focused view that we can all chart some developmental scores line in Zambia’s mining industry and auditing of licenses, will definitely help to salvo many effects especially with cases of trying to stamp out economic leakages that leads to speculative holders of mining permits, the nation has a huge belt of mineral base which needs full scale uptake and exploitations with a scope of environmental sense, by caring to the needs of health and safety as well as social investments in areas where mining operations should strongly get to function,” advised Chisanga.
