The National Democratic Congress, NDC, President Dr. Chishimba Kambwili says President Edgar Chagwa Lungu does not deserve to remain in power as Head of State as he has made decisions that are at variance with those of citizens.
In a Friday 24th April 2020 Press Statement issued by NDC Spokesperson- Saboi Imboela in Lusaka, Dr. Kambwili protested that President Lungu continues making decisions that politically benefit him as an individual and not those that are collectively good for all Zambian citizens.
In an apparent response to President Lungu’s partial unlocking of some economic sectors, Dr. Kambwili lamented that the country closed churches when the Coronavirus cases were only 2 and now urging The Church to congregate as infection figures reached 84.
Hours after President Lungu made the announcement, the Catholic Archbishop of the Diocese of Lusaka, the Right Reverend Alick Banda and Anglican Diocese of Lusaka Bishop, the Right Reverend David Njovu implored members to worship from their individual homes as sermons and services will be streamed live on Facebook on Sunday 26th April 2020.
Dr. Kambwili regarded the reported cases in Chingola on the Copperbelt Province as showing that Coronavirus cases had started moving from Lusaka deemed as covid 19 epicentre to the other nine provinces.
