Covid-19 screening intensified in Kafue
With Kafue officially declared as a Covid-19 hot zone, government has intensified screening for Covid-19 as part of measures to halt the further spread of the pandemic.
Accompanied by the Provincial Permanent Secretary, the Provincial Health Director, D.C’s for Kafue and Chilanga, we inspected Kafue District to see the levels of disease preparedness and to sensitize the residents on the dangers of Covid-19.
We also visited Kafue’s C5 Market, Choppies and Pick n Pat to sensitize the traders on Covid-19 prevention measures.
I am happy to announce that we have commenced thorough screening of all travelers (North and South bound) at Shimabala Toll Plaza as the first step towards containing the pandemic. We will be recommending to the health authorities that they consider screening all the residents of ZP Compound who may have come in contact with the first case due to the proximity of the deceased’s business premises and the Police camp.
