Sensational Zanaco Football Club Supporters Executive Member Fabian Kalunkumya says there is need for the 2016 Super league title winners to strengthen the team by infusing professional players in the frontline if they want to progress in the Continental African Championship.
The forward-looking Kalunkumya impressed it on Pan African radio that Zanaco football club technical bench should go out of the box to find a striker who is capable of holding the ball with efficient distribution and good eyes for the goal post.
Kalunkumya wants ZANACO FC Head Coach Numba Mumamba to find a formidable defender as a perfect replacement of the experienced Captain Ziyo Tembo, currently on a sporting pilgrimage doing national team duties, pointing out that defender George Chilufya will need strong partner.
The supporters Guru bubbled with confidence that the defensive and attacking midfield is one of the strongest in the league with 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner Isaac Chansa anchoring , and coordinating well with Richard Kasonde and the marauding midfielder Boyd Musonda are capable of giving any international team a good run for their money.
“ You see, I am of the idea that the Zanaco should try to think out the box and spread out to source from within and outside the country for as long as they find quality players who will help the team advance and level in the African Champions League above group stages,” Kalunkumya explained.
The supporters guru bubbles with confidence that the defensive and attacking midfield is one of the strongest in the league boosted by 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner Isaac Chansa, anchoring Richard Kasonde and midfielder Boyd Musonda.
Kalunkumya bragged that the eight (8) time FAZ-MTN Supper League winners Zanaco FC scored 71 goals beating a feat recorded by Zesco United FC of 67 goals in 2015, and only conceded two (2) goals at Sunset Stadium.

FORMER City of Lusaka Football Club Head Coach Chris ‘Gaza’ Tembo says the technical bench and administration of the legendary club at Lusaka’s Woodlands Stadium must build a competitive team to avoid demotion from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ-MTN) Super League like Mufulira Blackpool FC
Tembo, a former Malaiti Rangers FC and ZANACO FC left back commended City of Lusaka 1970 FC players participating in the teams return to the FAZ-MTN Super League.
I am impressed that City of Lusaka 1970 FC players performed and won promotion despite the commotion among administration during the 2016 FAZ Division One league. My former team must not be complacent,” Tembo cautioned.
Coach Tembo advised the ‘City Yamoto’ coaching staff to spread tentacles wider to the rest of province in order to identify budding talent.
City of Lusaka FC once hosted the late Zambian legend Keegan Mumba, and the current Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZASPOFA) Pastor Peter Makembo.
