PROFESSIONAL Teachers Union Zambia (PROTUZ) General Secretary (GS) Kangwa Musenga has called for a total lockdown as a most effective means of combating the global outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID 19).
Mr. Musenga is worried that once a total lockdown is not enforced by the Zambian Government once schools will be opened, pupils, students, teachers and families will remain susceptible to contracting Coronavirus.
Mr. Musenga observed in an interview in Lusaka that due to the global outbreak of Coronavirus the curriculum at all levels beyond exam classes has been disturbed, with pupils, students and teachers confronted with a backload of work.
The Professional Teachers Union Zambia General Secretary expressed worry as to when the 2020 examinations will be written following the closure of schools, and the lack of definite eradication timeframe on which to end the global outbreak of Coronavirus.
