8:00 a.m. – Mika Hotel, Kabulonga, Lusaka
U.S. musical activists Vocal Trash will hold a press conference to announce its environmentally themed, free concerts. The group’s tour of Zambia will take place in Lusaka on December 17-21, 2018.
Vocal Trash is a group of talented performers who produce music using metal trash cans, plastic barrels, water bottles, and other landfill items. The group has been entertaining the globe with a message of peace, love, and environmental conservation. The musicians’ mission is to unite the world through song and dance. They are activists who have dedicated their lives to inspiring others to find hope and joy, while saving the planet.
The group will work with renowned musician B-Flow (Brian Bwembya), artists from the Zambia Association of Musicians, and the Lusaka City Council to raise awareness about sanitation recycling, as well as contributing towards the ongoing Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy campaign.
The U.S. Embassy is supporting Vocal Trash as part of the U.S. Department of State’s Arts Envoy program, which aims to promote cultural exchanges between Zambia and the United States.
