Former Bank of Zambia Governor, Dr Caleb Fundanga is among African business executives selected as Intra African Trade Fair (IATF) 2018 Active and Goodwill Ambassadors whose event is set for Cairo, Egypt from 11th to 17 December, 2018.
Dr Fundanga has been the Executive Director of the Macro Economic and Financial Management Institute (MEFMI) for Eastern and Southern Africa since July 2014. MEFMI is a regional capacity building institution in the areas of Macro Economic and Financial Management based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Prior to joining MEFMI, he had worked as Governor of the Bank of Zambia for the period 2002 to 2011. Among the many accolades bestowed upon him during this period were; Central Bank Governor of the Year for Africa and Global award by the Banker Magazine, a sister publication to the Financial Times of London in January 2007, In September 2007, he was also awarded the African Central Bank Governor of the Year 2008 by the Annual Meetings Daily of Nigeria.
Prior to joining the Bank of Zambia, he had worked as Senior Advisor to the President of the African Development Bank (1998-2002) and as Executive Director of the African Development Bank (1995-1998). Before joining the African Development Bank, he served as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Finance, Cabinet Office and the National Commission for Development Planning of the Republic of Zambia.

And Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia, Ahmed Mostafa said the companies and individuals intending to attend the IATF will be assisted in the visa issuance as long as they have done the prior registration with event organizers online. The embassy expects a number of Zambian business entities to attend at benefit from this inaugural trade fair.

Meanwhile, H.E Mostafa has said that the IATF will be preceded by another big conference, The Africa 2018 forum-business for Africa and the world which is an international, landmark event hosted under the High Patronage of H.E Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, aiming to promote greater economic integration through increased investment flows into Africa.

The event takes place from the 8-9 of December 2018 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, and is organized by the Government of Egypt –through the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation- and COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA).
