SINCE hitting the scene as a Zambian actor in the acclaimed US$920 million worth ‘Blockbuster’ American movie – Black Panther, global freelance voice-over actor, narrator and dialect coach, Shumba Patrick Mutukwa has not minced his word tagging local people as a negative lot, for always discrediting those that make it in life.
Before his word could dry, Zambia online-social media made what pro-success activists termed as armchair criticism for alleging that Shumba Patrick Mutukwa , was actually falling in Donald Trump’s line as a ‘Fake News’ activist.
While local media and film theatres; Sterkinekor premiered the movie, a couple of Zambian voices tagged Shumba Patrick Mutukwa as a ‘Liar’, who actually did not play a single role in the movie as no enthusiasts’ eye cannot easily pick the Livingstone born and bred actor.
“This man has fooled the whole Country to think he is a Black Panther Celebrity when no one on the set even knows him. Where are his interviews in America? He is only interviewed by gullible Zambian journalists who are not doing their research on him. Where is he in the movie? What’s his name in the movie? Point him out in the movie?” taunted a local website.
Online publications dispute that during the production; Shumba Patrick Mutukwa helped with accents and spoke a line in Nyanja, a local Zambian dialect from Eastern Province.
Critics say the movie does not credit him as the person teaching Black Panther actors, Xhosa , a South African dialect as well as being a stunt man.
But the towering Mutukwa parried such talk as empty and is been showering philanthropic work, as he soldiers motivating Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC’s).
“Black Panther has now crossed the Billion mark at the US box office. These 300 kids in the picture are a great part of that story. They came from Chainda & Bauleni compounds. They have never been inside a Cinema! My friend Torrey Johns from Rock FM has demonstrated how big her heart is by making this a dream come true. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have been a part of it. This is what our lives should be all about; “asking ourselves what more can i do?”, said now a Zoona Brand Ambassador, appointed by Managing Director, Misozi Mkandawire
