Ministry of Agriculture Urges Responsible Use of Government Agriculture Loans in Samfya District

Samfya, Luapula Province—
The Ministry of Agriculture in Samfya District, Luapula Province, has emphasized the importance of responsible utilization of government agriculture loans, known as the credit window, to benefit farmers in the area.
He said this when he featured on Radio BANGWELA.
Speaking on the matter, the District Marketing Development Officer (DMDO), Mr. Simon Sarenje, urged farmers to adhere to the correct procedures to access these crucial government support initiatives.
Mr. Sarenje emphasized: “We advise all those interested in these government agriculture loans to follow the right process and to visit agriculture offices for further information”.
Mr. Sarenje, accompanied by the District Commissioner and District Agriculture Coordinators, highlighted the significance of adhering to proper channels when availing of these loans.
He warned that individuals intending to sell the inputs obtained through the loans would face legal consequences.
“Those with the intention of wanting to sell the inputs will be sorry when the law visits them,” cautioned Mr. Sarenje.
Meanwhile, the District Commissioner Mr Kayula Mulenga has thanked government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, as it continues its commitment to providing safenets for individuals interested in agriculture which can result into food security at household level.
The DC said Farmers are encouraged not to hesitate in signing up for these support programs to enhance their agricultural endeavors and contribute to the growth of the sector in Samfya District.
