EXALTATION OF JOSEPH FROM PRISON TO THE THRONE

Genesis 41:50-52
50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.

52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

The story of Joseph has many valuable lessons for individuals, national leaders and nations. The statement “Fruitful in the land of my affliction” is so pregnant with meaning.

Zambia as a country developed during the time of apartheid. Because of our involvement in the liberation of Southern African countries, we could not get things from South Africa because Ian Smith the Zimbabwean Prime Minister under the British support of Pik Botha were angy with us for harbouring Zanu PF and Joshua Nkomo. We had no access to Namibia because we supported SWAPO. Our only access was Dar es Salaam. President had no choice but to develop our own Industry. This is Fruitful in the land of affliction. In so doing we created local employment.

It was God who worked for us. The destruction of the economy under MMD was Satanic and work of Western powers through IMF. South African industry become the supplier of the very things we produced ourselves. Joseph became fruitful when conditions were unfavorable. Zambia shall become fruitful again.

I was told last week that the woman police officer at Central Police who worked with some of my clients was so powerful because she was used by PF against political opponents . Where are her bosses now who used her. I have acquired more land than I had under the PF government. They made my conditions difficult but the God of heaven prospered me in the land of my affliction. Nothing will stand between your progress and my progress. God has the power to pull the entire government down when it begins to afflict innocent citizens in the name of political survival.
