THE unavailability of healthcare and educational facilities, recreational spaces as well stores where one can get daily food supplies and other needs are deal breakers when it comes to buying land for residential use.
This is because the aforementioned necessities help greatly in improving the general wellbeing of individuals and also increases people’s productive capacities in many ways.
It is for this reason that a growing number of individuals are investing in residential plots being offered at the Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone (LSMFEZ).
One of the advantages, of purchasing a residential plot within the LSMFEZ is the availability of the planned amenities such as a play park, Golf course and shopping malls. The Zone will also have in place a fire station, a health facility and a training hospital. The idea is to afford individuals the opportunity to live in a more secure, organized and well-maintained space.
The residential plots, which are being sold at K250 per square meter, will be serviced with good road network, electricity, sewer system, water supply and communication infrastructure. Plot sizes range from 25×25 (625sqm) to 30×40 (1200sqm).
According to LSMFEZ Corporate Affairs Manager Alice Schultz, over 300 residential plots have been sold to date and the zone is currently seeking to break ground for the construction of a police station and clinic. “we wish to invite members of the corporate world to make donations towards this cause, the zone is currently lobbying stakeholders, investors and even members within the Industrial Development Group to participate in this noble cause to provide decent health care and safety…”
Ms. Schultz further revealed that “The LSMFEZ is working with Acuserve Corporate Brokers Limited to give the public a chance to own residential plots in this well-planned community,” She said.
Ms. Schultz went on to urge members of the public to invest in the Zone stating that the space is a safe and secure area adding that the many supporting social amenities will make it more enjoyable to live in, work and play.
She further stated that the LSMFEZ has partnered with financing entities to make it easier for individuals wishing to acquire residential plots in the Zone, which is posed to become a city within the city.
“Financing can be obtained from our financing partners Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS), or First National Bank (FNB) and Zambian Home Loans through our approved agent and enjoy repayment of up to (5) years,” Ms. Schultz explained.
She further outlined some of the benefits of living in an organized, secure and well-maintained environment and how that leads to improved productivity and general wellbeing.
“People will have easy access to health, education and recreational facilities including state of the art shopping malls. This means that they will not have to worry about accessing key social services. And a substantial number of people will have the opportunity to work within the LSMFEZ, thanks to the industrial and commercial activities that will be taking place in the Zone,” Ms. Schultz enthused.
A recent visit to LSMFEZ revealed that road works and construction of sewer and drainage systems around the area designated for residential plots and other land uses within the Zone are already underway.
The LSMFEZ has land for commercial, residential, industrial, research and development as well as institutional use. The Zone is located on the southern part of Lusaka and sits on 2100 Hectors of land.
The LSMFEZ is government owned and was declared a special economic zone in 2010. It is being managed and developed by LSMFEZ Limited.
