Africa Directions Youths sensitized on Unsafe Abortion, HIV AIDS

AFRICA Directions Director Mark Chilongu says alliance with the government to sensitive young people on reproductive issues and sexuality is bearing fruit as the response is positive and that his team of youths is making head ways to a complying populations in communities around Lusaka following a 3 years pilot project .
Speaking during a music concert staged to commemorate youth week at Jack township grounds under the theme: ‘Enhancing Youth Participation at all Levels of national Development,’ Chilongu commended the Ministry of Health led by Silvia Tembo-Masebo have helped by maintaining an open door policy to identify bottle necks that have challenging youths and help them build their individual willpower to resist temptations to avoid illicit sex , alcohol abuse and other vices that would put them in harm’s way.
“Our team is determined ,we are vigorously going out there to collide head on with the challenges that our young people encounter every day in terms of sexual reproductive issues in our communities, we have made positive strides ,the response is good so far ,“ Africa Directions Director Mark Chilongu stressed.
Chilongu said the mobile application setup at Chilenje Level one hospital has paid dividend with rising numbers of teenage pregnancies Kabwata constituencies and Munali constituencies and that his organization Africa Direction was prompted to engage young people help participate in shaping their environment.
He reminded the youths to be alert and not go to sleep as HIV and AIDS is still alive and kicking since it has been just over shadowed by other diseases like Coronavirus (covid 19) that stole the lime light recently , hence his team descended to setup another mobile application for the youths to express themselves at Mtendere clinic .
The confident Africa Directions Chief who seeking the intervention of Kabwata Member of Parliament (MP) Andrew Tayengwa, assured that his organization intends to spread its tentacles of reproductive health programmes to the rest of provinces around the nation.
