HEALTH Minister Sylvia Tembo-Masebo says government will in February 2022 start the recruitment process of 11, 200 health personal through placement of advertisements for jobs countrywide.
Currently serving as United Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance Chongwe Member of Parliament (MP) in Lusaka Province, Ms. Tembo-Masebo says a circular will be released soon and advised health workers on voluntary basis to apply for the jobs.
Flanked by St. Francis Senior Medical Superintendant, Lalik Banda, Ms. Tembo-Masebo implored health workers to work hard and improve the delivery of health care.
“I am aware of old infrastructure and lack of drugs confronting you as health workers. I am here to assure you that government is working to improve your situation. I must caution you to use proper methods of communication when aggrieved than rushing to social media,” advised Ms. Tembo-Masebo during a familiarization tour of St. Francis Hospital.
And, St. Francis Senior Medical Superintendent, Dr. Banda, briefed Tembo-Masebo on urgent need of medical personnel as the hospital receives a lot of patients, some from the neighboring Mozambique.
“There is need to decentralize the blood back, as St. Francis Hospital deals with a lot of emergencies such as accidents,” prayed Dr. Banda.
