Buchi Library restocking books finally arrive in Kitwe, hub of Zanbia’s Copperbelt Province

*The Restocking of Buchi Library Project Completed*
….Buchi Kamitondo Childhood association (BUKACA we are pleased to announce that the restocking of Buchi library project has now completed as the 40 foot container, containing various education, fiction and non-fiction books, laptops and solar lamps has now arrived in Kitwe, Zambia from books for Africa in the USA. The books have arrived at a time of precendented and uncertain circumstances due to global coronavirus pandemic causing isolation and closure of schools amongst other things.
“We hope that students and other members will have access to the books that they can use in their homes. We trust this will aid social isolation and provide learning opportunities,” said a delighted *Florence Chanda Britton* *BUKACA Chairperson- Stratford Upon Avon England*
In June 2018 BUKACA carried out a fundraising venture to raise funding for the restocking of Buchi library. On behalf of BUKACA members and the residents of Buchi and Kamitondo.
We would like to thank all sponsors, well wishers and everyone who helped our association to realise the dream. The handover ceremony will be held next week more details to follow. BUKACA is a non political organisation committed to improving the welfare and well-being of residents of Buchi and Kamitondo townships and are doing various projects to this effect. Last month BUKACA donated 1000 L water vessels to Kawama primary, Buseko primary and Kamitondo secondary school. BUKACA members comprise of people who were born or raised in Buchi and Kamitondo townships in Kitwe. Some members are in Zambia and other members in the diaspora.
