WHITE Orchids Investments of United Kingdom has submitted an expression of interest to the Northern Province Administration for the establishment of a five star tented Game Lodge in the Nsumbu National Park at a cost of over US5 million Dollars.
White Orchids Director Dipankar Chattajee announced this in a letter addressed to my Office on Monday 24th September 2018.
The Company intends to establish a low Carbon footprint Lodge around the Chika Falls area of the National Park so as not to alter the natural heritage around the Nsumbu.

The Multi-million Dollar Investment is expected to anchor the Company’s ambitious Lake Tourism Project which it intends to operate between the Lake Tanganyika, Lake Kariba, Lake Victoria and Lake Malawi.
As a Province we are excited with the prospects of this ambitious project which will place the Northern Province as an ideal choice destination for Tourists.
We are confident the heightened Investment interest in the Northern Province sectors of Tourism, Energy and Agriculture will spur serious economic growth of our region and change the fortunes of our people.
As an Administration, our focus is to change the narrative of the Northern Province from an under developed Province to one which holds the future of our Country what with its huge untapped resources in Mining, Energy, Tourism and Agriculture.
We are certain the Northern Province Investment Expo which will be held as a precursor to the Centenary Commemorations for the end of the First World War will deliver this.
To show the seriousness we are attaching to this matter, my Administration will be hosting a Pre – Expo Investment Cocktail on the shores of the Lake Tanganyika in Mpulungu on 6th October 2018 where over 15 Investors are expected to make Investment Pledges.

We hope to sign Memorandum of understanding with White Orchids, Mikalile Investments and several other Investors during the Cocktail for the commencement of feasibility studies for their Investments
The event which will coincide with the Launch of Commercial Flights into Mbala and Kasama by Mahogany Air is expected to trigger serious Investment drive into the Province long before the Expo.
