On 21st June, 2018, Dr Begashaw paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia to discuss Zambia’s being chosen to host the Sub-regional Centre for Southern Africa in Lusaka.
The Sustainable Development Goals Centre for Africa (SDG/A) is a homegrown African institution, championing the implementation of the SDGs in line with the principles of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The Centre is an international Organisation which supports Governments, Civil Society, Businesses and Academic institutions to achieve SDGs in Africa.
The Operations of the Centre is overseen by a Board comprising seven Heads of State and is chaired by His Excellency Mr Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda where the SDGs Centre is based
