Remarks delivered by His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia
During the Swearing in Ceremony at State House on Thursday, 4th October, 2018
I wish to start by congratulating you all on your promotions and new appointments. Let me note that your appointments like for many others are meritorious.
1. Major General Kapotwe Chintu
Deputy Air Commander
You joined the Zambia Airforce on 22nd June, 1980 and during your 38 years of service you have served as pilot rising through ranks to Air Officer Commanding Pilot and Air Transport Force. These are not mini achievements and therefore you deserve the appointment.
2. Mr. Bonny Kapeso-
Deputy Inspector General of Police-Operations
You have served the Zambia Police Service with diligence. you joined the service in October, 1984 as a constable and have risen through the ranks. the nation remembers you as the longest serving Zambia police spokesperson, where you served for five years. You have served in eight of the country’s 10 provinces. This gives you a good understanding of police services in the country. I am impressed with your curriculum vitae.
I have no doubt therefore that your vast experience will contribute to the enhancement of police operations, now that you are Deputy Inspector General of Police responsible for Operations.
3. Mr. Diamond Likashi
Commissioner of Police
Southern Province
You have served in the Zambia Police Service for22 years having joined the service in 1996. You equally have an impressive record of service in the Zambia police hence, your appointment. I have high expectations of you, not only as a senior police officer, but also as Commissioner of Police heading a province.
I wish to conclude by encouraging you all to continue exhibiting professionalism, loyalty and commitment to duty.
May the almighty god continue to bless and guide you as you serve the people of Zambia
