Labour Minister Joyce Nonde-Simukoko has said government’s negotiating team for the 2017 Improved Salaries and Conditions of Service has submitted to her ministry information a progress report on the on-going negotiations.
In a press release, Simukoko the Ministry of Labour and Social Security expects partners-The Government and the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) to guide and mediate in the negotiating process of affiliates by providing the bargaining team space to amicably conclude on-going negotiations.
Nonde-Simukoko, is looking forward to good-natured finish, with an advisory that any disagreements and resolutions being done as enshrined in the Industrial and Labour Relations Act.

Humphrey Malimba, a Zambian-based in the United States of America (USA) has described the state of Zambia’s politics as boring.
In an interview with Pan African Radio News, Mr. Malimba said instead of engaging the opposition in positive dialogue and finding the common ground to political problems, the Zambian Government is regrettably treating people with divergent views as enemies.
And Malimba has charged that United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema should not have been arrested because he did not do anything wrong to warrant a treason charge .
Malimba wants Zambians jealously guard the return to multi-party politics birthed on October 31, 1991.

Meanwhile, Senior Blind Citizen Elijah Ngwale says Hichilema’s incarceration has done more harm than good to the Patriotic Front (PF) regime.
Professor Ngwale said in an interview with Pan African Radio that even if Hichilema does not become president of Zambia, he will influence the exit of PF in the 2021 polls.
Professor Ngwale said the arrest of Hichilema attracted negative publicity of Zambia to the outside world.
And Professor Ngwale says calling for the release of Hichilema is not a priority for many citizens at the moment.
Professor Ngwale said what is necessary now is to call for early elections to usher in a regime that will bring about peace in the country.
Professor Ngwale said the new regime should set up a peace, justice and reconciliatory commission that will open up the doors of peaceful dialogue.

And United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has written to the Health Professions Council of Zambia, complaining that director of health service Dr Msipu Phiri is colluding to take over his health care in prison by force.
According to the letter dated 28th June, 2017 and signed by Hichilema, the UPND leader is worried that Dr Phiri is breaching to his privacy and that his life is in danger.
Hichilema who has so spent 80 days in prison for alleged treason offence said Dr Phiri is insisting on supervising his personal doctors.

Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Zambia Chapter Secretary Maliimba Masheke says media practitioners in Zambia should freely play their role as the eyes and ears of the public.
Officiating at a one-day seminar for media practitioners at the Peace Embassy in Lusaka themed: “Responsible Journalism in Pluralistic Society”, General Masheke said no one must stop media personnel from reporting issues of national concern.
General Masheke, who served as Zambia’s Prime Minister in the Government of President Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda, admonished journalists as the Fourth Estate to be vigilant and responsible.
And Media Consultant Sally Chiwama entreated media practitioners in Zambia to be united if the industry should grow.
Ms. Chiwama noted that the Zambian media can only in order to the industry be nurtured once scribes work as one adding that Journalists have the capability of transforming the country’s status.
Ms. Chiwama urged all electronic and print media journalists in Zambia to be in the forefront of promoting peace through ethical reportage

Zambian DNA Spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa is dismissed assertions that President Edgar Lungu is a undemocratic following a move to consult citizens on whether or not Zambia must remain in the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Mr. Mulemwa protested in Lusaka that despite the fact that President Lungu allowed wide consultation on the ICC issue, critics continue to brand the Zambian leader as undemocratic.

Demon-possessed Kabamba Mubili of Marapodi compound in Lusaka’s Mandevu Constituency attempted to commit suicide last Thursday.
Narrating the ordeal, Kabamba’s mother Dorcas Mubili disclosed that her 14 year old daughter is demonic and that she has been saying she has been seeing three people in her dreams demanding her blood.
Kabamba was rushed to Marapodi Police Post on where she spent in night in police custody.
On Friday afternoon, police released her and instead took her to church for prayers.
Kabamba’s mother said her daughter‘s life is in danger, disclosing that Satanists are after her life.

The Road Transport and Safety Agency(RTSA) has given a period of 14 days within which motorists should acquire motor vehicle and trailer licenses and road services licenses for the third quarter of 2017.
RTSA Spokesperson Fredrick Mubanga said motorists and Public Service Vehicle Operators have been given an extension of up to 14th July 2017 to pay for the required licenses.
Mr. Mubanga said so far ten out of the fifty five outsource partners have been connected.

Community Development and Social Services Minister Emerine Kabanshi says the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) 2017-2021 strategic plan will be a necessary tool for improving the standards and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.
Speaking at the launch of ZAPD 2017-2021 strategic plan, Kabanshi said through the ZAPD vision of inclusiveness, Zambians must ensure that persons with disabilities are included in all developmental activities.
Kabanshi challenged Zambians to change the attitudes towards people with disabilities by acknowledging their actions.
Kabanshi promised that government will support the implementations of the strategic plan in order to move toward an inclusive society which provides opportunities to all people with disabilities.

And speaking at the same event goodwill ambassador for the persons with disabilities Professor Elijah Ngwale urged persons with disabilities to crave their boon.
Professor Ngwale prayed that the launched ZAPD 2017-2021 strategic plan will not be thrown in the dust bin but should be implemented for the betterment of the persons with disabilities.

US President Donald Trump has called on North Korea to choose a better path quickly.
Speaking at the White House, Mr. Trump said the era of strategic patience with the North Korean regime has failed adding that patience is over.
The US leader said that Washington was working closely with South Korea and Japan, as well as partners around the world, on a range of diplomatic, security and economic measures to protect its allies and citizens from the menace known as North Korea.
It comes after the US announced sanctions on a Chinese bank accused of laundering North Korean money, sparking an angry response from China.
