The Universal Peace Federation (UPF), an international and interreligious network of individuals and organizations, including representatives from religion, government, civil society and the private sector, is dedicated to achieving world peace.
The Universal Peace Federation, operates as an NGO in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and UPF supports the work of the United Nations, in areas of interfaith peacebuilding, peace education, and the strengthening of marriage and family.
The six (6) Focus Areas of the Universal Peace Federation include Renewal of the United Nations, Interfaith peacebuilding, Peace and security, Marriage and family, Education and human development and Youth and service
The five (5) UPF Principles include God – We are one human family created by God.
Spirituality – The highest qualities of the human being are spiritual and moral.
Family – The family is the “school of love and peace.”
Service – Living for the sake of others
Unity – Peace comes through cooperation beyond the boundaries of ethnicity, religion, and nationality.
The Universal Peace Federation runs International offices, Regional offices and Worldwide chapters and was founded by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon
There is also Peacebuilding Network, Ambassadors for Peace, Peace Councils, Presiding Council and Global Peace Council

First, a look at the major highlight of the week, last week the News Maker was President Edgar Chagwa Lungu funeral of late Salome Chilufya Besa Kapwepwe, who joined our ancestors last week.
That said, it is worth noting that both former First Republican President, Dr. Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda and former Fourth Republican President, Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda were present at the funeral of the late Mrs. Kapwepwe, wife to former Vice President, the late Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe.
