Launch of Season Five (5) of The Mastercook Zambia Cooking Competition
During a Thursday, 2nd February, 2023 media gathering at Lusaka’s The Urban Hotel Crossroads intersection of Leopards Hill Road and Lake Road, Mastercook Zambia announced the start of the Fifth (5th) Season of the Reality TV Chefs competition which will see the brand partner with Distell Zambia’s Nederburg Wines.
The Show will now be referred to as “The Nederburg Mastercook Chefs Competition”.
Speaking during the launch, Distell Zambia Head of Trade, Amusaa Zaza, said his beverage firm is proud to be associated with Mastercook Zambia, and expressed delightful optimism bearing in mind that the fiestas decade (10-year-old) existence since inception.
Said Mr. Zaza: “We are glad to partner with Mastercook Zambia and look forward to a food and wine journey that will bring together the best of both world’s”.
Mastercook Zambia Creator and Executive Producer, Abigail Mbuzi, announced that the theme for Season Five is ‘Afro-Fusion – A Celebration of Local Cuisine, paired with the Finest Wines to create fine dining dishes that can be showcased throughout the world.
Pick N Pay Supermarkets Across Zambia, will host the preliminary rounds in their stories as the Mastercook Roadshow goes on a National Preliminary Round Tour to Every Province in Zambia, in Search of Zambia’s Best Chef and Home Cook.
Preliminaries begin in Lusaka on 4th February and end on 8th April in Chinsali, Muchinga Province.
The Road Trip, sponsored by Cress Motors and Aviary Lounge will have a Group of Chefs and Foodies travelling the country conducting auditions for the Mastercook Zambia competition and TV Show.
The Season Five Judging Panel will be headed by Chef Wezi Longwe and feature Guest Judges such as Milly Beauty, Lungowe Simbotwe, and Stu The Zed Feminist during the Preliminary Round.
The Final Round of the competition has some of Zambia’s Best Chefs including Season Two (2) Winner – Katatala Ryan Nkole, Host of Honey TV Show, My Zambian Plate, Chef Mwaka Mwimbu and other celebrated Local Chefs.
This Years Fine Dining Night, called the Nederburg Fine Dining Experience will be graced by Burundi born Celebrity Chef Coco, Executive Chef at Epicure in Johannesburg, South Africa.
