Socialist China’s strong economy cheers Fred M’membe

SOCIALIST Party president Fred M’membe says Zambian economists, philosophers, politicians and ordinary citizens should take a leaf from the republic of China, their development socialist policies, work culture and zero tolerance to corruption if they want the nation to develop quickly.

 

During a Youth Day on Saturday 12th March, 2022, under the Socialist Party theme: ‘Nothing to Celebrate’ commemoration in Lusaka, SP General Secretary (GS) and First Vice President, Dr. Cosmas Masheke Musumali asked the Socialist Party Youth League to observe a minute of silence in respect of 4th republican President Rupiah Bwezani Banda, who died on Friday, 11th March, 2022 at his Makeni residence in Lusaka.

 

The Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ), through Youth, Sport and Arts  Minister, Elvis Chishala Nkandu and Permanent Secretary (PS) Kangwa Chileshe chose; ‘Enhancing Youth Participation at all levels of National Development, though country wide commemorations were cancelled upon confirmation of late Rupiah Bwezani Banda.

 

Before asking Dr. M’membe to share a word or two, a fiery Dr. Musumali implored the Zambian youths to take the political bull by its horn and seek individualized solutions, pointing out that politicians continue to promise a bright future.

“You must not accept to be lied to again. You are not leaders of tomorrow; you must tell politicians that you are ready to serve today. As young people, time has come to realize that similar promises of a better tomorrow have not improved your plight,” advised Dr. Musumali during a commemoration spiced by millennial music, dance and poetry.

Dr. M’membe said Socialist China has created wealth as a nation and has individual billionaires in a shortest period of time and yet the Chinese have never practiced capitalism in their day to day business endeavour.

 

Formerly, Post Newspaper proprietor said China has now embraced women in their entrepreneurship programmes and today they have many female billionaires owning properties and businesses, with China Hinan proprietor as an example.

“Youths are the leaders of today and not tomorrow, young people must be in the frontline to build a better tomorrow, young people are inseparable partners toward realizing desired change in any community,” M’membe stressed.

 

M’membe, who celebrated his birthday on Friday, 11th March 2022, recollected that though China was at the same level of development with Zambia in the 1960s, the Asian country has made leap in infrastructure development and economic development, due socialist ideologies and is flooded by qualified architectures, civil engineers and local construction companies, which build roads and public Infrastructure.

“All over the world, it is young people leading the revolution struggle to eliminate unacceptable systems and injustice in their societies,” noted an appreciative Dr. M’membe.

The Socialist Party is an opposition party in Zambia. It describes itself as socialist and Marxist–Leninist.

The party was launched in March 2018 and founded by the journalist and businessman Fred M’membe, who was the party’s candidate for president in the 2021 Zambian general election.

While the formerly ruling Patriotic Front describes itself as socialist, in its current form it is generally seen as center-left.

The Socialist Party’s 2021 election manifesto promised a focus on universal education and health care, as well as cooperative farming.
