MultiChoice Wins Record-Breaking Five Awards at ZIM Annual Marketing and Awards Gala
Livingstone, Zambia – MultiChoice has scooped five awards at the just ended 24th Annual Marketing Conference and Awards Gala organized by the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM), in Livingstone, Zambia.
MultiChoice scooped the awards as overall leading entertainment provider in Zambia in five categories. The first award that the Zambia’s most loved storyteller won was Most Creative Radio Advertisement of the year for Zuba Season 4 on Zambezi Magic.
The remaining awards won included; Most Creative Outdoor Advert of the Year – New Football Season on DStv and GOtv; Best Product Launch of the year – MNET Movies Blackout Popup Channel Launch (Bad Boys for Life Pre-screening); Best Sponsorship Marketing Excellence Award – Bola Yapa Zed on DStv and GOtv and the fifth and final award was for Most Creative TV Advertisement – DStv Step Up 42% Discount.
Speaking after receiving the awards, MultiChoice Zambia, Head of Marketing, Chikombo Handahu, who spoke on behalf of MultiChoice Zambia, Chief Customer Officer, Leah Kooma said it was a great honor for MultiChoice to have won the awards
“We are so happy for the recognition that we have received through these awards, this reaffirms our commitment to continue using the power of entertainment to tell local Zambian stories. These awards are a great testament for us that we continue to bring content that resonates with our audience and we commit to continue making great entertainment more accessible to Zambians,” he said.
And speaking when he officiated at the award-giving ceremony, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Southern Province, Kennedy Mubanga said: “We know as government that we need marketing to deliver appropriate development and to continue raising the standards of living for our people.”
There were 17 award categories under consideration for 2020, These categories included; Best sponsorship marketing excellence award of the year, Most creative print advertisement of the year, Most creative outdoor advertisement of the year, Most creative radio advertisement of the year, Most creative local television advertisement of the year, Best product launch of the year, Best product innovation of the year and The best brand campaign of the year.
Others were Best digital marketing campaign of the year, Most creative local advertising agency of the year, Best customer service organization of the year, Best social marketing organization of the year – NGOs, Best public service delivery organization of the year, Best marketing author of the year, Best graphics designer of the year – Mwape Ndilila award, Emerging marketer of the year and Marketing personality of the year.
Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) invited members to participate in the nomination of corporates, marketing activities, advertisements, products and services and individuals for consideration in the Annual Marketing Awards.
In 2019, at the same Annual Marketing Conference and Awards Gala held in Livingstone, MultiChoice Zambia won the Most Creative Print Advertisement of the year – Best Print Advertisement in New Football Season.
