PATRIOTIC Front (PF) National Youth League Chairperson Kelvin Sampa has urged youths countrywide to use the social media responsibly ahead of the 2021 general elections and beyond.
Mr. Sampa, who is Kasama Central Member of Parliament, says social media should not be used as a platform for insulting elders and those entrusted with the responsibility to run the country’s affairs.
He said it is disappointing to see some young people turning the social media into a platform for insulting national leaders and assassinating other people’s characters.
Speaking on Kasama Radio on Sunday, 5th July 2029, Mr. Sampa said respect for elders is cardinal in a democratic dispensation.
” It is a curse to insult elders. This culture of using social media to insult elders should come to an end. I am urging the youths to use social media responsibly,” Mr. Sampa said.
He also urged the young people to seriously consider investing in agriculture in view of limited formal jobs on the labour market.
Mr. Sampa said the agriculture sector has immense business opportunities for the youths and all age groups which could significantly improve the livelihoods of many citizens.
He said he will continue promoting agriculture as he has seen for himself how the sector has transformed the lives of many Zambians.
Mr. Sampa has since secured over 5,000 bags of stock feed to be distributed to livestock farmers as well as other deserving residents of Kasama who were affected by floods.
