Zambia is in safe hands, President EdgarLungu assures diplomats

President Edgar Chagwa Lungu says any law breakers will be dealt with accordingly once caught as Government is on top of things.
Briefing diplomats during what he termed as a broader diplomatic interaction, President Lungu assured the foreign envoys that Minister’s had adequately communicated government interventions in a transparent manner.
On calls for him to address the nation, President Lungu protestingly restated that at an appropriate the call by sections clamouring for a Presidential Voice on gassing and mob justice would be answered.
During the meeting attended by diplomats led by European Union Ambassador to Zambia Jack Jankowski, Dr. Lungu argued that it is erronouos for anyone to suggest that there is no Government in place, pointing out that such detractors will have a day in court as the law is blind.
President Lungu argued that a his team is governing well and any person or groups be they politicians, religious leaders or women found wanting will be dealt with accordingly.
President Lungu said the diplomatic were candidly free to discuss any issue of concern with the media but was conscious that with cameras around, some questions asked by journalists might injure Government or the Foreign envoys.
On his part, European Union Ambassador to Zambia Jack Jankowski, said Zambia and the international community enjoyed good rapport.
However, noting that the parties Zambia and the Diplomatic Corp last held such an interaction in January 2019, Ambassador Jankowski, suggested that meetings be held every six months.
Ambassador Jankowski described the European Union and Zambia partnership as a 360 degrees once covering political and economical, security trade, investments and good governance.
Noting that 2020 marks 45 years of the European Union in Zambia, Ambassador Jankowski said the European Dollar 950 milion partnership continues to effectively handle new challenges of the youth, climate resilience
Ambassador Jankowski said the partnership is in energy, agriculture, health, nutrition and social protection.
Ambassador Jankowski reported that through more than 1, 000 companies from
European Union Member States, a lot of employment and expertise continues being invested in Zambia.
