EDUCATION unlocks the future of the nation. After World War II; Japan invested in the education of its people with correct curriculum to develop the nation and her people.
Rural Development needs broad thinking with a curriculum that is dovetailed into long-term economic vision and invest not only in today but in the tomorrow generations.
Many of our Rural Areas are cut off from development. Educating our future is not about just building the Primary School or Secondary School or University and then you create barriers to access education. Poverty is one of the barriers to attain quality education, which is the dream of our society today.
“I come from an area where poverty is high, high rate of early marriages, no opportunities for education progression. Few of us have overcome systemic barriers; we walked more than 100km to access Luwingu Secondary school and other secondary schools in the province. Many dropped off due to school fees and other barriers,” laments Lewis Mwape formerly Executive Director at the Zambia Council for Social Development (ZCSD).
On the Independence Day, Mwape launched a campaign dubbed, “Our Child, Our Future” at his former primary school, Kalaba Primary, in Chief Katuta, in a new District of Lupososhi, Northern Province.
“I reconnected to the young and and old, boys and girls, men and women. We did it like the old, we had Netball and Football Tournaments. We ate together! More than 3000 People joined the launch of the Campaign. We need to redeem ourselves. We sent the message as a people. We are also voters in the forth coming Council Chairperson Election. We are an Example of Modern Revolution!! the People of Lupososhi voted for PF when it was not common to do so. We can initiate an uncommon Agenda!,” Mwape said.
“We demand that development reaches US. OUR Leaders can Steal because they have refused to be stopped. This is who they are! They are a group of THIEVES! Our people are candidates of Social Protection which is dysfunctional, even stolen from the very Poor they claim to serve!,” stated a straight-talking Mwape.
Mwape thanked friends and colleagues for contributed to this noble cause.
“Thank YOU my friends and I assure you of Gods Blessing! Thanks my friends to come in your big numbers to share and come together as a people we will remain strong and committed to do the right thing and change the cause of our future,” said a delighted Mwape.
