FORMER Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba is worried over the manner the pro-poor Patriotic Front (PF) is now controlled by politicians who vigorously fought its founding President, the late Michael Chilufya Sata.
An audibly hurt Kalaba, currently serving as PF Bahati Member of Parliament (MP), Mansa District of Luapula Province expressed regret that those that physically and emotionally disregarded the late Sata are now in full control of the Patriotic Front.
Featuring on a University of Zambia (UNZA 91.7FM Lusaka Star Programme on Monday, March 26, 2018, ‘ Topic: State of the Nation anchored by Thomas Kabwe Mulenga and Faith Musanza, Kalaba vowed to fight till the PF is resuscitated from its capitalist agenda.
“It is a known fact that since President Sata’s death, our party has shifted its focus from people, to making life miserable among ordinary citizens. All I can say is that party programmes are built on lower taxes, more jobs and more money in a citizens pocket or purse. The Party still has a lot of people seeking to better life among ordinary citizens, but let us all be wary of the existence people or politicians with selfish motives,” explained Kalaba.
Kalaba bitterly complained that politicians belonging to the
Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Faction led by Works and Supply Minister, Felix Chipota Mutati had aggressively regrouped to loot any property and resources noticed by them.
“The people, who fought President Sata tooth and nail are back and this time around their intention is to completely and excessively loot the remaining resources in Zambia’s treasury,” Kalaba cried foul, barely two days after the PF Members of the Central Committee (MCCs) appointed Petauke Member of Parliament (MP) Dora Siliya, and likewise suspended PF Deputy Secretary General , Mumbi Phiri for allegedly disparaging President Lungu during a PF Party Mobilisation in Chilanga District of Lusaka Province.
However, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila explained that Members of the Central Committee had referred Kalaba’s fate to the provincial administration in Luapula province.
But the undaunted Kalaba said it was only the truth that will set and sustainable liberate him.
“I know as I am speaking to you here, they are people-PF Spin Doctors listening to me on UNZA Radio 91.7FM and plotting to scheme against my work as a Bahati Member of Parliament, but all I can assure them is that no weapon targeted at my face or feet will succeed. I am determined to fight on till President Sata’s dream is realised,” protested Kalaba.
The former Foreign Affairs Minister vowed to continue speaking on behalf of ordinary Zambians, as the PF as a party was still people-centered but the PF as Government, had drifted away from the more money in peoples pockets, more jobs and less taxes agenda. Kalaba quoted from the Bible John 8:32: “And the truth shall set you free.”
