ZAMWA Chairperson Caroline Kalombe elected

THE Zambia Media Women Association ((ZAMWA) has elected Caroline Kalombe as Chairperson during an Annual General Meeting held in Lusaka on Saturday 30th September 2017.
Seeking revival of the role and space of women in the electronic and print media, Zambia Daily Mail (ZDM) staffer, Christine Chisha showered praise on peers for courage toward a gender parity renaissance beyond Zambia.
Aside from Ms. Kalombe, ZDM staffer, Violet Nakamba-Mengo was elected Vice-Chairperson, with Top Star Public Relations Officer, Mwazipeza Sakala-Chanda becoming Secretary, Treasurer portfolio going to Chawe Barbara, and Nancy Mwape taking the Publicity Secretary position, and Meluse Kapatamoyo, Juliet and Chawanza Nachalwe from the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) being elected Committee Members.
“I Thank you media women for entrusting the young women to take up the leadership mantle. Let’s revive Zambia Media Women Association. Together we can. Congratulations to New chair person Caroline Kalombe, Vice Chair Violet Nakamba Mengo, Secretary Mwazipeza S Chanda treasurer Chawe Barbara publicity sec Nancy Mwape, Computer members Meluse Kapatamoyo , Julliet and Chawanza.
Mthoniswa Banda congratulated the new ZAMWA team. “Congratulations to Media Women for electing a new team. We look forward to hearing from them about the future”.
And Sally Chiwama said: “The new Zamwa chair. Congratulations Caroline Kalombe… Wish you all the best at you take the helm of our great organisation. Very proud of you”.
Clement Mulenga Sinyangwe “It would have been better if u formed a media professional body to regulate the media as a whole and have it passed it into Parliament to make it law. ……. otherwise congratulations to you all”.
