PATRIOTIC FRONT (PF) Kasama Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kelvin Mutale Sampa is a man of the people in Kasama, Northern Province with a passion for development which is founded when he served as President of the National Initiative for Citizens Awareness (NICA).
Before his latest passion as a parliamentarian, Mr. Sampa (KMS) studied Social Sciences at Mulungushi University in Kabwe Central Province after concluding Grade Twelve at Munali High School in Lusaka, thus sharing an educational heritage with former First Republican President Dr. Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda.
Spearheading development is a key component of Sampa, since being elected MP on Thursday 11th August 2016, with results evident by the ground breaking of the first ever boarding school state of the art in Kasama opening in January 2018.
“The results on the ground breaking of the first ever boarding school, constructed as a state of the art in Kasama will open in January 2018,” Sampa pledged.
In addition, Sampa’s transformative work is cheering well-wishers beyond the geographical landscape of the Northern Province, as marked by these responses: “Herman Kasonde Congratulation, this is what we want.”
Kennedy Mwamba simply said he was watching the development drama unfolding.
Chris Katilungu was more forthright: “I think, we have to move Katilungu village to the other side of the road. Well done Mr. Kelvin Mutale Sampa”.
Thandizani Mbewe Rich Bizzy quipped: “here are the sontables, twente twete one ninankwe nankwe,” literally translated as action oriented work.
Patriotic Front candidate Kelvin Mutale Sampa won an outright victory in the Kasama Central Parliamentary seat.
A politician and businessman, Sampa beat three other contenders namely United Party for National Development (UPND) aspirant Sibongile Mwamba, Pascal Chileshe of the Rainbow Party, a former Mungwi District Council chairperson, and Forum for Democracy and Development’s Webster Mulenga.
Sampa easily replaced former MP Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) who contested the 2016 elections as a Running Mate to opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
Born in Lusaka, Sampa has close to 15 years in Kasama, his parents’ birth place, and has a philanthropic commitment to help the less privileged, since 2004.
As a 14-year-old lad, Sampa, a civil rights activist, cut his political teeth under the United National Independence Party (UNIP) and continues to improve the lives of the people in Kasama Constituency.
Sibongile, daughter of the UPND Vice President for Administration is a former First Secretary at the Namibian Mission.
“My vision is economic empowerment for the people in Kasama Central Constituency through communal farms, advantaged by a good rainfall pattern in Northern Province. I will create a sustainable economic environment and community through lobbying Government led by President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and Vice President Ms. Inonge Mutukwa-Wina to declare Kasama as a tax-free zone, to attract investment in the Northern Circuit,” pledges an indefatigable Sampa. www.derricksinjela.blogspot.com
