(USA) Ian Banda is inspiring persons living with disabilities to have self-assurance of working like the able bodied citizens.
In an interview with Pan African Radio’s Correspondent Exhilda Siame in Minnesota, USA, Banda who is pursuing fellowship studies under the auspices of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) said disability is not inability.
Banda said people living with disabilities should not be stigmatized and subjected to all sorts of discrimination because they have the capacity to execute jobs which are exclusively performed by able bodied people.
And Banda, a wheelchair confined resident of Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound, a densely populated residential area west of Zambia’s capital city, Lusaka has urged parents and guardians to take children born with disabilities to school because they are a blessing, such that if embraced and nurtured society will benefit.
Banda has since commended the Zambian government for introducing special needs education teachers in public schools.

In a spirit of building Suma Systems, Publishers of Solwezi Today Business Magazine and This is Zambia, Trade and Investment Group Managing Director Martin Musunka and a media colleague Exhilda Siame yesterday delivered two studio communication mobile phones to Pan African Radio 105.1FM.
During a brief mobile phone handsets, hand-over ceremony, Mr. Musunka a veteran journalist, who spent 26 years at the globally respected Times of Zambia Newspaper, says Ms Siame and himself remain committed to rendering philanthropic support toward media development.
Briefing Pan African Radio 105.1FM Director, Winnerd Simwala, Musunka acknowledged the importance of journalists collaborating in the art of communicating and disseminating messages of development.
“As professional journalists, we are inclined and duty bound to offer philanthropic support toward Media Development. This in our view is but s start of a greater partnership,” Mr. Martin Musunka pledged.
Musunka equally pledged continued technical support to media houses, pointing out that in December, Solwezi Today Business Magazine and This is Zambia, Trade and Investment will host three workshops on health reporting in Livingstone, Lusaka, and Ndola.
“We are planning to host three Media Health Reporting Workshops in Livingstone, Lusaka and Ndola in December 2016,” said Mr. Martin Musunka- currently serving as Suma Systems, Publishers of Solwezi Today Business Magazine and This is Zambia, Trade and Investment Group Managing Director.
