May 11 – Over the next few weeks SuperSport’s football offering will be stacked with club and national continental football.
The group stages of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) premier club competitions, the Champions League and Confederations Cup, get underway this weekend and SuperSport will broadcast live a selection of matches from both.
SuperSport’s selection of first-round matches in the group stages features the Champions League defending champions and runners-up, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Zamalek of Egypt, plus league champions from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Egypt, Zanaco, CAPS United and Al Ahly respectively.
Also getting underway this weekend is the U17 Africa Cup of Nations. The eight-team tournament, being held in Gabon, will also serve as qualifiers for the 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup in India later this year. The four nations that progress beyond the youth Afcon’s group stages will represent Africa in India.
All U17 Afcon matches will be live on SuperSport across four channels: SS9, SS9E, Select and Maximo 360.
