As more and more visitors and tourists are arriving in readiness to watch this year’s Kuomboka ceremony, below are some of the events to take note as well as places to visit.
Wednesday 5th April 2017.
*Kuomboka Fundraising walk from old Shoprite to Mongu town along Mongu to Senanga road. This event will be spiced up by Men and women dressed in Misisi and Liziba as they walk and dance to the beautiful royal tunes called Manjabila etc
*Barotse Arts Exbition at Yuuka Cultural Center in Mongu, organized by department of arts and culture under the Ministry of Arts and Culture Lusaka in conjunction with the Provincial office.
*Limulunga la Makuwa Women’s Cultural Club on display will be various handcrafts and traditional crafts which can be bought as souvenirs by visitors and tourists. Among them walking sticks, white bangles as well as a lot more.
*Mumwa Craft Centre in Mongu near total filling station and Nayuuma Museum is another place you can visit for traditional works or arts.
Thursday 6th April 2017
*Maoma drums are sounded in the evening and morning from Lialui Royal village.An activity called Kufulumuna because the drums are first beaten by the Litunga and then the subjects take turns afterwards much to the delight of the onlookers as well as residents who can get the sound as far as 20 kilometers.
Friday 7th April 2017
*Traditional regatta canoeing competition from Lialui Royal Village to Mulamba Hobour in Mongu. This is a local water sport were paddlers showcase their fast paddling skills and win various Prizes.
*Arrival of the 2017 guest of Honour his Excellence Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu and his entourage at Mongu airstrip.
Stakeholders welcome him at the said venue.Details to be availed.
*Mbunga Music Bash at Springfield/View Lodge featuring top artists like The Barotse Queen Kas Nalu, Y. Coast, Mr. Kuutwa among many other local stars. Who will be performing on a floating stage.This is a must event to watch out for if you need to taste original local music called Mbunga.

*The main traditional Kuomboka ceremony from Lialui Royal Village to Limulunga Royal village.
*Further you can tell everyone else coming as they drive around to tune in and follow more daily updates on the local Radio station called Mungu FM 88.5
