Tuesday, 26th April, 2022 – We wish to inform the public that Zamtel Mobile Money is now able to receive international money transfers from the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe, through Remitly.
Remitly is a leading international payments company that leverages digital channels, including for mobile payments, to send money internationally. Remitly’s digital platform is a faster, cheaper, and more convenient option for customers to send money across borders. It enables users to make person-to-person money transfers in over 135 countries around the world.
Zamtel, through its Mobile Money services arm is delighted to announce this milestone that will enhance the functionality of our Mobile Money services. We have continued driving innovation as part of our agenda of being a truly digital lifestyle partner that offers superior and quality customer experience. The customer should always win with every innovation we launch and that’s the freedom we promise and continue to deliver.
This integration with Remitly is strategic and meant to help our customers to transact seamlessly, and at lower cost, when receiving money from many parts of the world. . Customers can now advise their business counterparts, family and friends in the diaspora, that there is a simpler way to send money back home.
In addition to this, Zamtel has in the recent past integrated with various financial institutions, including banks, to enable customers to: withdraw money from their Mobile Money wallets using ATM’s and; deposit, send or receive monies instantly. Furthermore, partnerships with Kazang, Zoona, and 543 Konse Konse get us closer to our customers and take away the need to look for a physical booth to transact.
