In a practical Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and local entrepreneurial improvement, FNB Zambia Head of Business & Commercial, Kabanda Lilanda confirms earning funding of the 2022 Lusaka Business EXPO slated for Thursday, 5th to Saturday, 7th May, 2022 as a Platinum Sponsor after committing K300,000 towards the PUSH Women’s Network themed: ‘Adopting New Technologies for Climate Responsive Business, Trade and Investment’.
Since 2013, when FNB started operating in Zambia, the bank initially established in Grahamstown, South Africa in 1838 has continued to adapt in line with its diverse customers’ changing needs.
With an ethos built on offering real help across different sectors and a vision to create a better world, FNB Zambia remains resolute in supporting green growth whilst working closely with stakeholders that are tirelessly seeking to drive the agenda of climate-smart
businesses.
As FNB Zambia is focused on being the bank of choice providing finance for green growth,
Mr. Lilanda said that the Bank’s support of this 2022 Lusaka Business EXPO highlights the commitment to supporting businesses
of all scales and creating an enabling environment for them to attain sustainable growth.

The 2022 Lusaka Business EXPO will be graced by delegates from Zambia’s 8 neighbouring countries and heavily supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade & Industry, the Ministry of Green Economy and the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).

The Lusaka Business EXPO will be characterized by business forums and panel discussions heavily skewed towards finding solutions for green growth in Zambia by leveraging the collaboration of the public and private sector.
FNB Zambia is a subsidiary of FNB, division of FirstRand Bank Limited tracing its origins to the Eastern Province Bank, formed in Grahamstown, South Africa in 1838.
By 1874, the bank had four 4 branches – Grahamstown, Middelburg, Cradock and Queenstown and due to a recession, the bank was bought out in 1874 by the Oriental Bank Corporation (OBC).
However, as a result of financial difficulties being experienced in India, the OBC decided to withdraw from South Africa, after which the Bank of Africa formed in 1879 took over OBC’s business in South Africa.
