LCC EMBARKS ON DISINFECTION OF SCHOOLS

LUSAKA City Council (LCC) Public Relations Manager (PRM) Mwaka Nakweti confirms through the Department of Public Health (DPH) of a massive disinfection and sensitization exercise in schools prior to opening on Monday, 24th January, 2022.
Aside from keeping Coronavirus (Covid 19) at bay, Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Maambo Haamaundu recently led Lusaka residents in a monthly Keep Zambia, Clean and Healthy campaign.
Ms. Nakweti says the initiative is meant to help contain the spread of Covid 19 by supporting the safe opening of schools in Lusaka, as 32 schools in Lusaka Central, Kanyama and Kabwata Constituencies were disinfected by Press Time.
Ms. Nakweti explained that as schools open, teachers and learners are encouraged to wear face masks and practice good personal hygiene, washing of hands with soap and water or using an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
Advised Nakweti: “School authorities should also ensure that they have enough hand washing facilities within their premises Lusaka City Council is routinely disinfection of public places; thus Institutions and members of the public, are free to call on the Local Authority to have their premises disinfected spread of the virus.
