ACCELERATING Impact of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA Zambiais set to partner with the Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI) and universities countrywide to find science based solutions meant to scale- up climate smart agriculture.
AICCRA Zambia, a World Bank backed through International Water Management Institute (IWMI) will soon launch internship partnerships with ZARI, university partnerships and the ministry of agriculture find common ground in seeking solutions.
Southern Africa region representative Dr. Inga Jacobs-Mata said the internship partnerships will help to effectively address the challenges of climate smart agriculture in the country.
I am hopeful that envisaged partnership activities will provide solutions to the challenges faced in scaling climate smart agriculture. I encourage sector stakeholders to show interest in the AICCRA Zambia activities, collaborate and develop science based solutions,” said Dr. Jacobs-Mata noting that AICCRA Zambia activities are supported by the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA.
Dr. Jacobs-Mata said the AICCRA Zambia is set to scale up technologies to reach out to 300,000 farmers in Zambia.
Meanwhile Dr. Jacobs explained that the dialogue provided sector partners with more opportunity to engage and share their experiences on Climate Smart Agriculture.
And the AICCRA Zambia acceleration has finally picked Comaco ,Lima Links, Agova and Vitalite as part of the five (5) winning partnerships receiving US $250,000 World Bank grants to scale up climate smart agriculture..
In October 2022, AICCRA called for applications from agri business partnerships in Zambia to compete for the $250,000 grant with each recipient receiving US$50,000.
