Post Bus Domestic Tourism promotion partnership cheers Sister Auxilia Bupe Ponga

MINISTRY of Tourism and Arts (MOTA) Permanent Secretary (PS) Auxilia Bupe Ponga and Zambia Postal Services Cooperation (ZAMPOST) Post Master General (PMG) Brighton Ngoma have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) drafted to promoting domestic tourism.
Speaking during a brief meeting Kwacha House on at Lusaka’s Cairo Road on Thursday 7th January 2021, Sister Ponga expressed optimism that the MOU will facilitate enhance ZAMPOST operational performance Operations.
On his part, Postmaster General Brighton Ngoma said the collaboration outlined in the domestic tourism promotion partnership is beneficial to both the Ministry of Tourism and Arts and the Zambia Postal Services Cooperation.
“I am delighted that the Ministry of Tourism and Arts and the Zambia Postal Services Corporation MoU as government is seeking solutions to revive the hospitality sector currently grappling with a devastating impact of the COVID-19. The Post-Bus will act as a vehicle stimulating the sight-seeing sector through transportation of tourists on its routes of operations,” said Dr. Ponga.
The Ministry of Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary says government’s yearning is to craft more investment opportunities in the tourism sector, as an effective means of improve the living standards of people in Zambia’s ten ((10) provinces, namely; Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Muchinga, Northern, North-Western, Southern and Western.
And Postmaster General Brighton Ngoma said the MoU with the Ministry of Tourism and Arts will restore the Zambia Postal Services Cooperation market relevance in the transport and communication sector and build a sound sustainable revenue stream.
“This partnership will see Zampost and the Ministry of tourism utilise our postal network infrastructure and transportation,” explained Zambia Postal Services Cooperation Postmaster General Mr. Ngoma.
