PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ON OPERATING ILLEGAL DRUG STORE
Lusaka, Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020……. Eleven people of Kapiri Mposhi District, Central Province have been arrested for operating a Pharmacy without a Certificate of Registration contrary to Section 14(1) of the Medicines and Allied Substances Act No. 3 of 2013. Particulars of the offenders are as listed below;

The eleven have since been released on Police Bond and will appear in court soon.
This came to light during a surveillance routine inspection directed towards curbing the sale of medicine and allied substances in unregistered outlets undertaken by the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) inspectors, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Officers.
